On November 4th 2025, USD AMA brought in the Founder and CEO of the incredible company Olive & June to USD for a Founder Chat. Currently I am serving as the University of San Diego's American Marketing Association (AMA) chapter president. The Olive & June team was so active and excited to come to USD and they even offered to gift goodie bags to the whole student body atteding. We could not let them down, we had to show them we appreciate them with a good turn out, so I made it my mission to make this the biggest event USD AMA hosted in the whole semester.

The Olive & June x USD AMA event was one of the most rewarding experiences so far of my time with AMA. What started as an idea in Summer 2025, quickly turned into a full-scale strategy and PR effort that required careful planning, coordination, teamwork and creativity. Our team initially planned for

around 40-60 max attendees, building our budget, supplies, and event flow around that expectation. In the weeks leading up to the event, we focused heavily on outreach, leveraging social media, word-of-mouth, classroom announcements, flyers around campus, and intentional messaging to spark excitement and awareness across campus.

As the event approached, momentum began to build beyond what we had anticipated and in around 5 days before the event our RSVP's jumped from around 20 people to 115. Through consistent promotion, clear communication, and genuine enthusiasm for the Olive & June brand, interest grew rapidly, and on the day of the event, we welcomed 104 attendees. Seeing more than double the expected turnout was both exciting and challenging, requiring quick thinking, structured decision-making, and real-time problem solving. I had to step back, assess what came next, delegate responsibilities efficiently across the USD AMA team, and work with the operations team to adjust budgeting, supplies, and workflow to ensure the event still felt organized, welcoming, and on-brand.

What made this experience truly special was how collaborative, engaging, and fulfilling it felt from start to finish. Working

alongside such a dedicated AMA team reminded me how powerful strong teamwork and clear strategy can be. This event wasn’t just fun, it was a real world lesson in event marketing, PR strategy, adaptability, and leadership. Walking away from it, I felt incredibly proud and grateful not just for the outcome, but for the process, the growth, and the confidence it gave me in handling complex projects with purpose and creativity.
